Council does not remove snakes from private properties. A number of snake handlers registered with the Environmental Protection Agency's Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will remove snakes for a fee.

Mary Poppins Festival
The Mary Poppins Festival is held in the June - July School Holidays in Maryborough's glorious riverside parks and heritage streetscapes.
There is no shortage of fun and zany interactive entertainment and workshops at this Fraser Coast Regional Council initiative.

Lake Boondooma was originally controlled by SunWater, but management rights for the Dam's camping and recreational facilities were transferred to Wondai Shire Council in March 2001.
Camping in Council parks and other public places without a permit is strictly prohibited. Fines may be issued for illegal camping on Council land.
Maryborough
Camping is available for a short term period at Maryborough Park (Showgrounds). A fee applies and must be paid prior to departure. For information regarding fees, facilities and vacancies, please contact Customer Service or the Maryborough Park Manager on 0427 773 760
Tiaro
Two (2) free nights camping is allowed near Tiaro Memorial Park in Mayne Street (Free toilet and shower facilities) and Muna Creek Hall in Bauple, Woolooga Road, Munna Creek (no toilet or shower facilities).

Situated 15 kilometres from Murgon in the South Burnett, Lake Barambah, also known as Bjelke-Petersen Dam, is stocked with golden perch (yellowbelly) and Australian bass.
Continual stockings have ensured that there are varied sizes of silver perch, golden perch and bass.
The concrete boat ramp directly in front of the camping ground has limited parking and a fish-cleaning table.
There is another concrete ramp closer to the main wall, with plenty of parking and a well-gressed picnic area and toilets.

Built in 1984 on the Burrum River, about 30 kilometres northwest of Maryborough.
Lenthalls Dam is reached by turning off the Bruce Highway about halfway between Torbanlea and Maryborough, and then travelling seven kilometres along a sealed gravel road.
